Project Overview

The Evergreen ADU exemplifies sustainable living, comfort, and adaptability for aging-in-place. Utilizing passive design principles, it maximizes energy efficiency with a south-facing orientation for winter solar gain and a brise soleil to reduce summer heat. Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) provide a highly insulated, airtight envelope, ensuring thermal performance, energy savings, and a reduced carbon footprint, while enabling faster, cost-effective construction.

The design prioritizes accessibility, featuring zero-threshold entries, low-profile flooring, and a roll-in shower with support rails. An adaptable layout includes a second bedroom for flexible use, such as caregiver quarters, guest accommodations, or a home office, enhancing future-proof functionality.
